Lancer Sound Setup Speaker Cover Repairs

Now that Im the process of tidying up my lancers interiors - next up on the list are my speaker covers. I have a cheap but decent sound setup - a Pioneer ***** drives two 6 inch speakers in front and a pair of 6 x9 speakers at the back.

I think that for the average joe like me - whats important is that you get a respectable headunit to ensure decent/better output from cheap speakers :)

How cheap is this setup? The rear speakers cost me around 2.5k 6 years ago while the front speakers(Crown Brand) costs around 800 (4 years ago). Both still sound pretty good to this day. The headunit was a gift but I think it costs around 7k.

While my rear speakers still look presentable, the front has clearly seen better days (aesthetically speaking). The stock covers are cracked, chipped and broken! :(

As the cover is beyond salvaging, I decided to unearth and repair some old pioneer covers I had lying around.

The screw holders have chipped off and there are scratches everywhere. These will need some TLC before they can go to my lancer.

To repair the screw holders - I have decided to use an old pens casing. Once this is cut, the barrel is strong enough to hold the screw in place.

Test fitting the screw to make sure it doesnt just slide out.

The new holders go on to the covers casing - I used a bit of clear epoxy to hold the new holder in place since mighty bond is too brittle and will just chip off in time.
